In the worst case the pivot pin connecting the rear hub assembly to the lower wishbone arm will seize up thereby restricting the pivoting of the rear hub assembly on the lower wishbone arm. The bearing can also either seize of have play allowing some movement in the rear hub which will not help with the handling of the car.
