Jaguar XK8 XKR (X100) Rear Jewelled Light Upgrade Kit
If I was to recommend just one thing to modify your existing early XK8 or R (X100), to give it a much more modern appearance from the rear it would be a rear light conversion. Also adding a chrome boot plinth, rear spoiler and larger Oval or Quad exhaust tail pipes are other great improvements.
Earlier XK8 and R’s produced from 1996 to 2000 (to Vin 042775) had a rather flat looking non jewelled effect rear lamp with no chrome surround.

New Backing Panels for Rear Light Upgrade
The rear light conversion involves the removal of the existing light and the cutting out of the rear mounting panel. This is then replaced with an original jaguar mounting plate copy to take the later style jewel lights. The light aperture is sealed and painted to make it water tight. Then the wiring is altered to accept the new light plug connections
The interior boot trim can be modified or a new item purchased to clear the new light covers to give an original look.
