This boot spoiler is a great product to update the lines of your XK8 to match the XKR model style. It is made from very light hand crafted fiberglass and can be fitted in minutes. It will arrive in primer ready for painting or for an additional charge, this can be professionally painted if the paint code is supplied.

The spoiler can be fitted in minutes being placed directly on to the boot with pre-mounted double-sided 3M automotive tape (supplied) with no need for drilling.

Let’s face it, the front of a Jaguar XK8 / XKR looks pretty impressive in it’s standard format. But a problem with the standard number plate plinth is that it partly obstructs the grill aperture. The front of the car looks much better if the number plate is positioned below the grill. This is a great improvement to the existing looks and is definitely recommended if you are planning to fit a mesh grill to the car which will really improve the look of your car further. The kits available on the market lower the existing number plate and plinth below your grille. The ones we have looked at fit XK8 and XKR models up to 2003.5 model year. The XK8 parts kit consists of two aluminium brackets in an anodised black finish to match the plinth, plus provision of all the required fixings and instructions.

This will really enhance the look of your Jaguar XK8 showing off the grill aperture to it’s best. This item can also be used on number plates for the United States and Canada. We understand that the plinth can also be painted to match the colour of your car for a small additional fee.

Noisy accessory drivebelts seems to have become a common Jaguar XK8 and V8 trait in recent years. This can be due to the general ageing of the belt but also to the belt having been soaked in coolant. Also check the teeth on the inner side of the belt for general deterioration. In my case, I removed the cap of the header tank too early and the long life coolant sprayed all over the engine compartment and onto the drivebelt. Coolant can also soak the belt if you are changing the water pump and / or the thermostat. The only reliable fix is to replace the belt together with the tensioner and a revised idler pulley. This is recommended to ensure a quiet operation. The work is quite straightforward and can all be done as a job on its own or as part of a water pump / thermostat change or general cooling system overhaul.

When purchasing the accessory belt, we recommend the genuine Jaguar XK8 part. If an aftermarket belt is used, it must be exactly the same length or the wear indicator built into the tensioner will not work properly.

Worn bushes can affect the handling and ride of a car. On an XK8, they should be changed if you are replacing the ball joints or shock absorbers / springs. However true to form on an XK8, the bushes are unique and require care in replacement.

There is now a new range of British made Polyurethane bushes for the XK8 / XKR range as a direct replacement for the standard XK8 / XKR parts.These bushes are designed to give a taut yet refined ride and will also improve handling without a trade off in excessive vibration. Polyurethane bushes have a much longer life span than normal.

If replacing the bushes, then it is advisable to get a full set kit. This contains four each of front upper and lower wishbone bushes and a set of anti roll bar bushes.

Note that there are two different part numbers, those ending with the suffix CA fit on the front lower wishbone whilst those ending with BB are for the lower wishbone – beware as they look the same but are different.
