XK8 XKR Parts Cooling System Great Value Service Kit

On all car engines it is vital that the cooling system is working efficiently to avoid over heating and then possible failure of head gaskets, premature wear of the crankshaft bearings etc. The Jaguar V8 4.0 Litre engine cooling system has a history of problems relating to the break up of blades in the early water pumps and the cracking of the plastic thermostat housing. Also although Jaguar says the engine coolant is 'Long Life', this should be changed every 20,000 to 30,000 miles as it will lose it's corrosion inhibitor and anti freezing qualities. Regular flushing of the system is also vital to remove the build up of contaminants that can restrict / block flow in the waterways.

If you are going to replace individual parts, why not service the other parts of the system at the same time ?.

The Legendary Jaguar V8 engine most of us love ! was designed to be a smooth, powerful and yet quiet engine and there is nothing worse than hearing a constant squealing noise from the engine bay. If on start up and with a cold engine your XK8 or R is making the annoying noise from the front of the car then there is a good chance that this is coming from either a worn drivebelt and / or one or more of the drivebelt components. Let's face it with many cars now recording + 100K miles, all these moving parts take a constant hammering and eventually will need replacement. Jaguar XK8 XKR Rear Sports Link Exhaust Pipes - No Silencers

When I purchased my 2001 XK8 Jaguar in 2007 then 6 years old, I was tempted to buy one of the latest XK8 / XKR stainless steel exhaust systems thinking serious exhaust corrosion especially in Scotland would be imminent. It’s now May 2012 and the mild grade stainless steel is still holding together – when will it ever corrode out and I’ll have to replace it ? Jaguar appear to have got their exhaust system quality right at last !. However, the oldest XK8's are 16 years old and time is taking it's toll with systems starting to fail necessitating replacing all or some of the exhaust system.

I have had a Triumph Stag and Jensen Interceptor in the past and the sound from these V8 systems is intoxicating ! Lets face it, the original XK8 / XKR exhausts make the car sound too quiet and don’t exploit in sound the great power of the engine.

We are now selling the latest in full stainless steel performance exhausts but with my car until the middle silencer and over axle silencers fail, I am very tempted to try a rear sports exhaust system which are reasonably priced at around just £165 + shipping and VAT. I have heard the system on other cars and it gives the car a real sporting sound. They are easy to fit, just remove the old rear boxes and replace with the straight through system. The flush-fit appearance of the two oval stainless steel tail tips fit and fill the original cut-outs perfectly. The exhausts sections are available for both the 4.0 and 4.2 litre XK8 and XKR models. Fuel economy is apparently the same however I must admit I think there will be an increased tendancy to use your right foot to get the impressive growl !.

The stainless steel systems we now stock are a direct replacement for the rear boxes so if you did need to get replacement over axle and middle sections then we can supply. If you want to order, please advise if your car is a 1996 to 2001 or car or post 2001 as the brackets are different.

We are now pleased to be able to supply high quality full exhaust systems for the XK8 and R Cars in high grade stainless steel with a unique 25 year. warranty. The standard Jaguar XK8 / R exhaust systems to give them credit have lasted fairly well over the years. However, time is taking it's toll and internal corrosion due to water build up when left standing for a time (which many cars do !) and external corrosion are resulting in failure of exhaust sections and MOT failures. At the same time the supply of exhaust sections from Jaguar is often irratic leaving owners with no option but to replace the standard system with a sports system with silencer sections removed and replaced with straight through pipes.

This is fine if you want more of the V8 Grumble ! from your car, but some owners prefer a more sedate and relaxing drive and the relatively quiet standard system achieves this.

ZF6HP26 Automatic Gearbox Transmission

The ZF6HP26 introduced in 2000 was the first six-speed automatic transmission / gearbox manufactured by the German ZF company. It is used by the following top car manufacturers; BMW, Jaguar, Ford / Lincoln, Maserati, Kia, Hyundai, and Land Rover for their Range Rovers Cars. In service and used by Jaguar XK8's and XKR's from 2002 onwards and if regularly serviced, it has proven to be a robust and generally reliable gearbox.
