Jaguar XK8 XKR XJ8 XJR Refurbished Front Hub and Vertical Link with New Bearing Fitted – Exchange Service
It can take your garage or yourself many hours of work and a special tool is required to remove the rotor nut at the back of the hub and to then remove / press out and refit / press in a new wheel bearing with the associated circlips.
The Jaguar XK8 XKR XJ8 and XJR models are all prone to front wheel bearing wear typically after only 20k – 30K miles and often when the bearings are worn you will hear a hard rumbling sound coming from the front of the car.
The exchange refurbished front hub and vertical link service includes:
1. removal of the rotor nut using the special rotor nut socket (can very often require lots of heat and a very large torsion bar to remove !!)
2. pressing out the old bearing
3. removal of circlips
4. cleaning and stripping all the assembly parts
5. pressing in the new bearing and fitting the 2 x circlips
6. refitting the rotor nut using the special tool
7. painting the assembly
The refurbished unit is now ready for a relatively easy and fast refit.
The refurbished hubs fit:
XK8 1996 to 2005
XKR 1996 to 2005 (does not fit XKR’s with the larger Brembo brake upgrade but we can refurbish your old units if you can send them to us)
XJ8 3.2 V8 1997 to 2002
XJ8 4.0 V8 1997 to 2002
XJR 4.0 v8 (does not fit XJR’s with the larger Brembo brake upgrade but we can refurbish your old units if you can send them to us)
Daimler Super V8 1997 to 2002 (does not fit the Daimler Super V8 with the larger Brembo brake upgrade but we can refurbish your old units if you can send them to us)
Price of the exchange service including parts and labour is £225.75 + a refundable surcharge of £75 repaid on receipt of the old assembly and if OK for refurbishing. So the NET cost is £225.75 + shipping and VAT.
